What is The Implication of a Cable Very Low Frequency Test?

A specific type of electrical test called the Cable Very Low Frequency test  is used to assess the calibre and consistency of the insulation in high-voltage cables. A low-frequency AC voltage is applied to the cable during the VLF test, a non-destructive test, for a predetermined amount of time. The test voltage is gradually raised until it reaches the appropriate test level, which is typically determined by the rated voltage of the cable. The frequency used for the VLF test is lower than the frequency used for traditional AC hipot testing.   On the other hand, Cable connections must be appropriately tightened in order to avoid electrical problems and lessen the possibility of equipment failure.
